Description:

«Askold-39» is a motor-sail boat and is supposed to be used as a pleasure craft or a training ship for voyages on inland waterways and near-shore areas.

A trade galleass of the first part of the 18th century was taken as a prototype for the «Askold-39».

The boat hull is made of selected ship construction pine and has single layer clinker planking and laminated longitudinal and transverse framing.

The boat’s design includes:

- forepeak;

- central section where the water closet supplied with a marine toilet and a sink and the cook galley supplied with a sink and gas oven are found;

- double cabin and quadruple cabin, the lounge supplied with a table and soft sofas and the pilot’s seat. Two additional pieces of sleeping accommodation are available in the lounge;

- engine room located below the cockpit;

- double after cabin.

The boat is equipped with the inboard 43 hp diesel engine, main engine systems, the fresh and outside water systems, drainage system and waste water system.

The steering control system includes the wooden rudder fixed at the stern post.

The vessel is navigated from the self-bailing cockpit with the help of the tiller.

The anchor handling equipment includes the power gained anchor capstan, the anchor chain stopper, the admiralty anchor, the anchor chain and the chain well found in the forepeak.

The electrical facility includes the hinged generator, the 75 AHr

acid accumulator, 220 V shore power, the distributing switchboard,  inside lighting fittings, and navigation lights.

The boat system voltage is 12 V.

According to the customer preferences, the boat can be supplied with navigation equipment.

The boat has the gaff ketch rig. The rigging is made of natural and synthetic ropes while the sails are made of synthetic fabric. The deck fittings (blocks, chain plates etc.) are made in the old-school style. In order to improve the stability while sailing the boat is supplied with the about 3 ton ballast fin.

According to the customer preferences, the boat can be decorated with carving (head figure, aftermost and ship borne décor).
