Description:

Askold-15 sail boat is supposed to be used for having water recreation. The yachts found in a classical work The Manual for Sailing Lovers by G.V.Ash published in 1895 were used as the vessel’s prototype.

The longitudinal and transverse framing and some other vessel details are made of oak.  The clinker planking is made of selected ship construction pine. The fastening includes stainless screw bolts, screw nails and copper rivets. The fore end and the after end of boat are supplied with decks in order to improve seaworthiness.

The boat has the gaff rig and the 150 kg leaded ballast fin. The boat is completed with the rudder, the tiller, the rig (mast, sail boom, gaff, bowsprit, mainsail and staysail, standing ropes and running ropes) two oars with oarlocks, and the backboard.
