Description:

«Àskold-45.3» is supposed to be used as a pleasure craft for voyages on inland waterways and near-shore areas.

A Hanseatic kogg, which was a sail boat of the 14th century, became the vessel’s prototype.

The vessel hull is made of selected ship construction pine. It has rounded whaleboat lines and the fine-cut stern. The craft has laminated longitudinal framing and futtock frames. The vessel has single layer clinker planking. The vessel’s single-layer deck is made of wood.

The hull has three watertight bulkheads made of plywood.

The pilot’s cabin is found at the after body of the craft.

The pilot’s cabin and the forward superstructure have special wooden ornamental details which make them look like medieval ships.

The vessel’s design includes the following:

- section of the open deck in front of the poop deck supplied with 32 passenger seats and 8 tables;

- bulge below the section of the open deck where the tanks and the ballast are found;

- poop deck with the crew berthing compartment supplied with two double beds and two single beds with soft pillows, a folding table, and some lockers;

- engine room found at the after body;

- pilot’s cabin found on the poop deck where the steering position, the cook galley and the WC with the separate entrance are located.

The craft is equipped with the 114 hp diesel engine completed with reduction gearing. The engine operation panel is found in the pilot’s cabin.

The hull systems include the main engines system, drainage system, fresh water system, the waste water system and the ventilation system.

The craft is equipped with the hydraulically-driven transverse propeller.

The anchor handling equipment includes the 35 kg drag anchor, the 30 kg Bruce anchor, the hydraulic windlass, the anchor chain and the chain cable.

The vessel is equipped with the square rig which includes the rig, the sail and the ropes.

The rig includes the straight sail yard and the single-spar mast set on the deck with tabernacles and collapsed towards the stern.

The vessel has the square sail of 48 square meters which is made of synthetic fabric.

In order to improve stability while sailing the vessel is supplied with the 4 ton ballast.

The electrical system includes two hinged generators fixed on the engine, two accumulator plants, the charger, the electric service panel, lighting fittings and deck lighting.

In addition to the 12V basic network, the 220V network is available.

According to the customer preferences, the craft can be equipped with the navigation facilities as well as be ornamented with ship carving or ship décor.
