Description:

«Askold-45.1» is a motor-sail boat and is a modified version of «Askold-45». The boat is supposed to be used as a pleasure craft, tourist craft or an expedition vessel.

The drawings of Russian and Scandinavian boats of the 10-12th centuries were the vessel’s prototypes.

The hull is made of selected ship construction pine and has rounded whaleboat lines.

The longitudinal and transverse framing is laminated. The vessel has lap-seam plating fixed with copper rivets.

The vessel’s single-layer deck is made of wood.

The hull is divided into four compartmental sections by three bulkheads. The compartment sections are the forepeak, two berthing compartments and the engine room.

In order to get to the compartmental sections, the deck is supplied with four capes with flap doors.

The forepeak is used as a store room and WC.

The berthing compartments are supplied with some pieces of sleeping accommodation and the cook-galley.

The 70 hp inboard diesel engine is installed in the stern compartment.

The boat is equipped with drainage system containing two manual and two electric bilge pumps, the fresh and the outside water system, the waste water system and the ventilation system.

The boat is equipped with the double steering control including the wooden steering oar fixed on the broad side and the metal rudder with the detachable tiller.

The vessel is supplied with 14 double-banked oars as an additional propulsor.

The oarlocks are made according to the historical prototypes and are found on the upper part of the broad side.

The rig includes the collapsible stick mast (pole mast, one-piece mast; single-spar mast), the sail yard, the four-sided sail and the set of standing and running ropes.

The electrical system includes the navigation lights, inside lighting fittings, two accumulator plants, the charger, the electric service panel and the land-based power cable.

According to the customer preferences, the boat can be ornamented with boat carving (head figure and stern figure as well as other ornamental details).
